New Planetary Positions Coming in 2017
Saturn enters Sagittarius
The planet of Harsh Realities leaves Scorpio, where it has been since November 2014, on January 26. Saturn is a bit better off in Sagittarius, a sign that is inherently more positive and generous compared to Scorpio. Sagittarius is the sign of Beliefs; Saturn is the planet of Structure. This energy pattern helps to give form to everyone’s personal philosophies. The downside is that Sagittarius is rather attached to its own ideology, while one of Saturn’s intrinsic qualities is that it doesn’t change readily. Therefore people are less likely to compromise on what they believe while Saturn transits through Sagittarius.
Saturn will only get 3 degrees into Sagittarius when it goes retrograde, on April 6. Saturn then “backs into” Scorpio on June 20, becomes “stationary-direct” on August 25 at 27 degrees Scorpio, and finally returns to Sagittarius on October 26. Thus during several months of 2017 Saturn will be dithering around on the border of Scorpio and Sagittarius. The borderline between a water sign (Scorpio) and a fire sign (Sagittarius) has a special designation in Vedic Astrology: Gandant. A gandant planet is considered greatly weakened. Having Saturn, the planet of Form and Structure, and therefore Dependability, weak and in a variable state during much of the year is an indicator of General Instability. Thus Insecurity will likely be a major feature of 2017.
After Saturn returns to Sagittarius in late October, it will stay in that sign until January 2020. In your own Vedic Astrology birth chart, check to see which house has Sagittarius in it: that area of your life will be impacted by the planet of Restriction, Burdens and Responsibilities over the coming three years. If you have natal planets in Sagittarius, or opposite in Gemini, the effects of Saturn’s transit will be more keenly felt.

Jupiter enters Libra
For the first 8 months of 2017, Jupiter continues its transit in Virgo, where it has been since early August 2016. The qualities of Jupiter and Virgo are rather different from each other: Jupiter is the energy of Expansion and Faith; Virgo is the sign of Details and Analysis. Thus Jupiter is somewhat at a disadvantage in this sign. Then on September 11, Jupiter proceeds into Libra. The planet of Optimism, Increase, Wisdom, etc. will be in the idealistic sign of Balance and Harmony for the next twelve months, until October 2018. Libra likes to see its ideas and ideals implemented; Jupiter gives the confidence and breadth of vision to accomplish this. The social idealism of Libra gets promoted by the expansiveness of Jupiter, leading to Humanitarian Initiatives.
In your own chart, look for the house containing the sign Libra. The area of your life represented by this house will experience increased idealism and likely undergo some sort of expansion starting during the last months of 2017 and into 2018.

Uranus enters Aries
Uranus takes 7 years to transit through a sign in the zodiac. Since 2010, Uranus has been in Pisces. The planet of Sudden Events, Freedom, and Rebellion changes signs in 2017, entering Aries, the sign of Individualism, Initiative, Exploration and Adventure, on April 8. This planet-sign combination is sure to produce some exciting events over the next several years. The rebels and revolutionaries will be energized to try new things; inventions and risk taking will become common. If you like change, this is good news. If you prefer things to stay as they are, you are likely to be upset by these developments.
Since it is one of the outer planets, Uranus operates more on a societal or large-scale level. In personal lives this transit doesn’t create too much in the way of events unless it directly connects with a natal planet or sensitive point in your chart. If your chart has an Aries planet, or something opposite in Libra, you are likely to experience a major change related to the significations of that natal factor during the coming years.

The Nodes Change Signs
The nodes of the Moon (the eclipse points) move backwards through the zodiac, changing signs every 18 months or so. Since January 2016 Rahu has been in Leo and Ketu has been in Aquarius. On September 8, 2017, the nodes change signs: Rahu will move into Cancer and Ketu will enter Capricorn. The Rahu side of the nodal axis is where most of the attention and interaction occurs; Ketu’s position suggests some kind of sacrifice or abandonment.
The transit of Rahu through Cancer emphasizes Cancerian qualities: the desire for Home, Nurturance, Emotional Connection, and Safety. The transit of Ketu in Capricorn indicates having to let go of the Capricorn themes of cold Pragmatism, Material Accomplishment, and control-freak Management. In your own chart, the topics of the house occupied by Cancer will be getting extra focus during the transit of Rahu; the significations of the house where Capricorn is placed will likely suffer during this transit. The nodes will be in these signs from September 2017 until March 2019.

Venus Retrograde
Approximately every year and half, Venus goes through a retrograde phase. In 2017 Venus will be retrograde from March 4th until April 15. Venus begins its retrograde phase at 19 degrees Pisces and ends it at 3 degrees Pisces. A retrograde planet is at its closest to the Earth, therefore bright in the Heavens, therefore powerful. But due to its “backwards” movement it is not behaving normally, and its significations will likewise not perform in the usual manner. Venus is the planet of Art, Creativity, Romance, Relationship, Harmony, Agreement, Guidance, and Finance. Generally speaking, these areas of life will not operate as smoothly or predictably during the Venus retrograde period. When it is retrograde the significations of a planet become more subjective. In this case the planet of Love and Relationship, in a sign that is naturally very sensitive, can manifest as increased self-concern verging on selfishness.
In your own chart find the house occupied by Pisces. The relationships associated with this sector of your chart will be under review during the weeks of the Venus retrograde period. It is not advisable to begin new relationships, or sign agreements, or get married, when Venus is retrograde.

    Thanks a lot,
