Relocation Astrology: Change your Destiny by Moving

Changing where you live as a way to change your fortune is an idea that has been around for a long time. There are countless examples of people who say that “their luck changed” once they moved away from where they were living. Others maintain that their lives “took a turn for the worse” when they tried living in a different place.

Does Astrology have a way to determine the outcome of moving to a different location? Yes it does, through a technique called Relocation Astrology.

The interpretation of the horoscope depends on two structural factors: how the planets were arranged in the zodiac at the time of birth, and how the entire pattern was positioned relative to the exact place on the earth where you were born. The first part of the structure gives us the signs of the planets and their aspects to each other; the second part of the structure puts the planets in the houses of the chart. The first part is going to be the same no matter where you are on the Earth at any given time, but the second part changes depending on where on the Earth you are placed. Since the analysis of the one’s astrological chart depends so much on the houses (the various “departments” of life), which in turn depend on the location of birth, you, and your destiny, would be different if you were born somewhere else.

This then, becomes the basis of Relocation Astrology. With the help of the personal computer and the software written for it, a few keystrokes creates a whole new birth chart for you as if you where born in the place you are thinking of moving to. Similarly, we can search the globe for where your birth time would have created the most optimal astrology chart for professional success, or for marriage, or winning the lottery, or… the possibilities seem endless!

So all we have to do is move to the new location with the best chart set-up and Voila! Life will be Wonderful! Ahh… would that it were that simple.

In reality, where you were born actually has a lot to do with your destiny; the “flash photo” of the Heavens taken from the place of your birth doesn’t go away simply by moving to a new spot on the globe. But it can be modified. Although your essential nature and destiny won’t be different, some of the potential positive outcomes can be strengthened, and negative or difficult karmas weakened. By re-creating your birth chart as if you had been born in the new location, and comparing it to your actual birth chart, the astrologer sees which elements of the celestial pattern will be emphasized in the new place. For example, if you lack opportunities for marriage in your life, your could try moving to a place where Jupiter, the planet of opportunity, would end up in the 7th house of marriage for you. The potential of that part of your chart would then become more dominant. Likewise, there may be undesireable components in a birth chart whose potential to manifest can be decreased by choosing a location that de-emphasizes their importance.

If all this works, then why not just visit the new place to experience the new good karma? That sounds logical, and sometimes people do experience immediate results, but mostly what happens is that it takes a while to adjust: the habits and memory patterns of years of experience in one location do not disappear so quickly by simply moving somewhere else. I.e., you have to give it some time; usually several months at least.

Another corollary to all of this is that the place on the Earth which would emphasize a part of your chart can be the source of something, or someone, who strongly impacts your life. For instance, if moving to the Far East would emphasize the 7th house of marriage in your natal chart, you may have a particular fascination for, and potential success with, an Asian partner. If the 9th house of your chart gets strengthened by having you born in India, you may find “religion” by following the path of Yoga or Hinduism. Similarly, if a particularly negative pattern in your birth chart gets emphasized in some part of the world, then people or ideas or even material items from that country or culture could have an undesireable effects on you.

Relocation Astrology is a fascinating technique for altering components of your destiny. It is not the final answer to every problem. But it can be considered as another type of practical remedy in the Vedic Astrology arsenal of techniques for “Negotiating with Destiny.”

I relocated to city and state with Jupiter in 7th house and lived here for twenty years moved away and came back an living here for over five years and no marriage. Please explain

The effects of Relocation Astrology do not totally override your natal chart. If your natal chart is very negative for marriage, and /or your dasha sequence is inappropriate for marriage, then a successful marriage will be difficult to achieve. Moving to a new location may increase your chances, but is still no guarantee, and will not cancel a strong natal karma.

What about the nodes? If I move to a location with Rahu on the Descendant, am I more likely to find my “destiny” or “soul’s purpose” there? Would this also indicate a likelihood of finding a fated partner in that location? It is a fascinating subject.

    Thanks.

Generally, Rahu’s position indicates a Focus of Desire. Since Rahu is an eclipse point, it indicates “darkness” which could be Confusion (i.e., being mislead by desires). Rahu is also considered a “foreigner” in Vedic Astrology. Therefore its connection with the 7th house can signify someone from a culture different from your own.

Direction can truly enhance/deplete a single or multiple areas of your life. It can be as simple as sleeping in a certain direction creating ailment in body, to travelling to eastern direction leading to legal issue, To travelling to west direction enhancing monetary gains or desire for it. It depends on your dashas, chart, intuition, doshas in your body and free will & samay ( time)

Hi! & Thank You in Advance.
I relocated from Nantes France to Hialeah Florida. I was a Aries Rising (Natal ) now a Capricorn Rising.

Do the Nodes of the Moon Change like S.Node & North Node in Relocation Astrology?
If so in my relocation chart, my S.node is now in 1st house Capricorn? Is this bad ?

And Saturn falls in 10th w/ a Stellium of pluto, mars & jupiter.

Do you reccommend Any Astrology program like software to learn and interpret my chart ?

    Best Regards,

    Hilda M Matilla

For generating the relocation astrology charts, I use the relocation tool included in the astrology software program that I use: Parashara’s Light 7.
Be aware that the relocation chart does not change the positions of your natal planets with respect to the zodiac; only the house positions change.
The basic idea is that planets in the kendra houses (i.e., 1, 4, 7, 10) of the new chart will give the most effects. Therefore, moving to a new location where strong natal combinations show up in one or more kendra houses will product the most obvious results. Having a stellium of planets in the 10th house will put a lot of emphasis on Career for you. The particular outcomes will be in line with the involved planets: i.e., for you in Florida, Saturn, Mars and Jupiter in the 10th with Saturn as the ruler of the Capricorn Asc, will give you lots of success, but also lots of work and responsibility.

    Hello
I am still puzzle with my relocation chart .i was born in Colombia , then I relocated to Massachusetts , United States . My natal chart did not change much and I was able to use transits as a guide for my life . Last year I moved to London and the transits does not seem to “work” any more . I have always been successful in my work and suddenly I have not been able to find any jobs here…

My question is :how I can interpret transits when I am so far away from my birthplace ?

    1. ronberger Post author

The analysis of your natal chart made for your original birthplace will always be the primary source for predictions. Using the relocation chart for predictions can be misleading. The relocation chart is a technique that helps to understand how the natal positions can be emphasized for a different part of your life by moving to different part of the planet.

Concerning relocated charts, I was wondering wouldn’t it be more accurate if you took the progressed relocated chart as a point of reference instead of the natally relocated one ?
For instance, if I relocate my natal chart to a certain place it doesn’t seem good at first, but then if I look at the progressed relocation chart, it seems better at that location than my progressed chart in my natal location. ( was just tinkering with https://horo.io/ ; I put a different birth place and then went to progressed chart, saw a big difference, seemed I would be happier there than here at this age).

There are a number of different techniques used for Relocation Astrology. The one that I have found to be most accurate is to use the Birth Time, but reconstruct the chart as if you had be born in the new location. The resulting chart has the same planets in the same zodiacal positions as your natal chart, but now putting emphasis on different houses, i.e., showing how life in the new location will provide opportunity for your birth chart karma to manifest differently.

Very interesting information. What would Neptune conjunct IC in a relocation chart mean generally? and a stellium (sun venus mars mercury chiron) in the 8th house?

    1. ronberger Post author

The IC is a critical point in the astrology chart. Neptune is a general significator of Dreams & Imagination, also Deception & Confusion. Neptune conjunct IC for relocation would be indicative of potential problem in that location. The grouping of planets in the 8th house indicates something Unusual, at least, and at worst could activate the 8th house signification of Chronic Problems. However, if the person is strongly inclined towards the Spiritual Path, the position of Neptune in the 4th + stellium in the 8th could be an aid to spiritual progress.

One person had been trying for years to get his invention off the ground, but was nonetheless stuck working for various companies in order to survive. His relocation chart for the Northeast of the USA showed strength in his 10th house of Career. After he moved to Boston, his dream of forming his own company to make his invention became a reality.
